HONORS
I started riding and have been involved with horses since the age of 10 years old. I have climbed to
the top of my field and the equestrian world by sheer determination, skill and love for these animals.
To this day I have never refused to ride a horse that was deemed unsafe or out of my league.

MY EARLY YEARS
In 1984, I worked under one of Australia's greatest apprentice jockey masters, Theo Green.  He
produced numerous champion jockeys such as the following:  Malcolm Johnston, Ron Quinton, and
Darren Beadman.  These are only a few endorsements of his training skills.  I worked closely with
some of these jockeys, from the experience gained, I developed my own unique style.

ONE LUCKY BREAK
One day, whilst walking my horse to the track, I passed a very displeased trainer.  He was leading a
Group 1 horse that had just bolted on his  usual jockey.  This horse had a reputation of being one of
the hardest pullers on the track.  The  trainer looked at me and asked "Paul, do you think you could
hold this horse? "   I honestly thought he was joking, but I said "Yes" while trying  to keep a straight
face, which for me is hard, because I'm a cheeky  character.  Well, the story is, I rode and held this
horse.  I became its regular rider, and this opened the door for all the other difficult horses.  By the
time I left for Japan, my reputation was that of one of the strongest riders on the track, there wasn't a
horse I couldn't hold or ride.

JAPAN AND FINDING MY GIFT
In 1993, I came to Japan and started working at Bloodhorse Training Center, Hokkaido.  This is one
of the largest and most prestigious research Thoroughbred Training Centers in the world.  I am now
based here as a self employed trainer/starter of TB's  for the race track.  I am always searching to
improve and develop my techniques in training and handling horses and it was here I
learned/discovered the TAP.  This happened while I was riding a rearer, I executed a 'one rein stop'
to counter attempted rears and also performed adjustments which came naturally to me at that
moment in time.  The effect on the horse was astounding and I knew immediately I had discovered a
unique method of control which was safe for me and a positive safe experience for the horse.  I have
further studied and practised  this technique on hundreds of horses and have now skillfully
developed a unique and safe universal tool to help both trainers/handlers and most importantly the
horse!

The 'TAP' is a revolutionary tool I have developed and integrated in my own unique method of colt
starting.  It is based on the concept you can earn a horses trust and respect without harm, brutality or
stress that is seen in other methods of training.  This is done without the excessive and constant use
of round pen work.  My methods are firm and fair and I join up with my horses in the saddle and not
on the ground.

I have demonstrated my starting and repairing horse skills with videos on YouTube, that combines
entertainment with education. At the present time I have a viewer base of over 50,000 people..
